giveaway . reusable snack packs

after eating pretty much anything and everything put on his plate for the last five months or so, cole has decided that yogurt is the only food group worth touching for the past couple of weeks. we are, of course, encouraging him to get back to eating all of the foods he previously enjoyed, but on those occasions that only yogurt will do, these reusable snack containers from squishy snak pak have been incredibly convenient for yogurt on the go.

the lovely michelle fromΒ squishy snak pak is giving away a set of two reusable snack containers (perfect for yogurt, applesauce and any other sort of puree) to one of you πŸ™‚ these would be an awesome stocking stuffer for the little one, or new parent, on your holiday gift list!

to enter:
head over and like the squishy snak pak facebook page and leave a comment here letting me know you’ve done so;
and then, for a second entry, leave another comment below with a favourite snack, meal or feeding trick for the toddler set — i’ll take all the help i can get πŸ™‚

contest closes friday december 14.

best of luck (and yay for awesome canadian businesses)!

congratulations shara!

Heidi - as far as eating tricks, i am in the same boat as you. our kids are both very close in age and my little one doesn’t eat good meals either. i think it is because her molars are coming in. anyway, one thing i do when i get desperate is feed her while she is playing in the bathtub. something about her being distracted helps her eat double what she would at the table.ReplyCancel

Kim - I have 9month old twins, girl/boy, my son eats everything – my daughter not so much!! Yogurt is the only thing I can get her to take maybe 4 bites of!! I’m at a loss – if I play “airplane” with her she may take another bit or two πŸ™ they totally have minds of their own!!!ReplyCancel

sarah m. - i became a fan of their page. awesome product!

my girls are super picky eaters… but my little guy has been great so far…

distractions are essential when it comes to the toddler years and up. tho it may not be the best parenting trick, we often whip out the ipad for some super why or phonics while they’re eating… at least they’re learning, right? πŸ˜‰

when they were little, i used to put bite size pieces of toast, muffin, scone etc. and they’d nibble on that while i’d simultaneously shove the veggies into them πŸ™‚ it worked!ReplyCancel

megan - These days we make a lot of smoothies for my picky eater. I can add spinach, hemp hearts and flax to some yogurt, milk/oj and fruit and he thinks it’s a special treat. I’ve also had some luck with blending up veggies and cottage cheese into mini quiche. Good luck! Now off to like the fb page. These would be perfect for xmas for my second who will start foods soon!ReplyCancel

Carolyn - What a smart product! I liked their FB page!

Sounds gross, but I would mix tofu into Mimi’s food to get some extra protein in there. The “soft” kind blended really easily. It was best disguised in applesauce, Greek yogurt, mashed bananas, and mashed avocado. And as she got older, I’d pan fry it in little strips or cubes (using the medium firmness kind).

Good luck mama! This too shall pass. πŸ™‚ReplyCancel

melissa - my baby girl is the same age but lucky me havn’t had this problem yet, she will literally eat anything put in front of her. she has a love affair with food. but i can say she definitely prefers any finger foods that she can feed herself, she’s too impatient for me to feed her with a spoon so these little things would be perfect!ReplyCancel

Julie - My daughter is limited in her eats. I often have ice cube trays with different snacks or dips in each section.
It also helps me gage her portion size.
She absolutely loves sushi salad and pizza. I can hide anything in these two items.ReplyCancel

Erinn T - don’t have much experience in the tips section as mr. jack is only 7 weeks old, but i plan on making food fun with shapes, faces, and small kid-sized cut outs for him if this ever becomes a problem.
    good luck!

Seemed to help us a lot.

Meryl - My trick with my 3 year old is to use small servings & then offer “extras” when she “cleans” the plate. For my 10 month old, same approach, lots of small servings of several different finger foods. Maybe it makes the meal less daunting? Usually works!ReplyCancel

Carley - My best advice for getting some healthy goods inside the tummy’s of the babes is to make it fun! Let them help you make meals and snacks. Make smoothies, bake homemade granola, or oatmeal cookies with apple sauce. Get them in the kitchen, get messy, and have fun!ReplyCancel
