in writing . #zoomoutmovement

so, i’m blatantly cross posting this from my instagram account, but based on the response there, i wanted to share it here too!

. . . . .

anyone who has followed my work for any period of time is probably pretty aware of my tendency to focus on the positive/find the light/celebrate the everyday/enjoy the small things… to “zoom in” if you will. in chatting with a good friend recently (this is all her idea really), she mentioned how much power there was in both spotlighting the awesome moments AND in “zooming out” once in a while, to embrace the chaos and to give some context and perspective.

while this concept is nothing new, i thought it could be a fun little project to start and to extend to anybody else who wants to join in and share some of the not so pretty behind the pretty.

all that to say, welcome to the #zoomoutmovement and please play along 🙂

. . . . .

and if you somehow were under the impression that i (or anyone else for that matter) am “doing it all”, you were wrong 😉

Sue Erneta from Sue at Home - Wow! I’ll admit that it’s nice to see something out of place in your home. I’ve been following you since Lilawashere.com and I am constantly in awe of how great everything looks – your beautiful sparse home, your gorgeous kids (who never seem to have peanut butter stuck on their faces or boogers in their noses), and the most awe-inspiring part: Lila’s stunning wardrobe!! (I mean, doesn’t she have some ugly shirt that a weird relative gave her? No?)
What I mean to say is…this is a cute project but it’s going to take a lot more to make this superfan think that you’re anything less than perfect! Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures and your stunning family with us!ReplyCancel

andrea - oh my goodness! my house is far from tidy and/or sparse — it’s basically bursting at the seems with “stuff” these days. i just happen to like nice clean photographs most of the time, so i tend to be creative with my cropping (or shoving, as seen here, haha). also, i never ever photograph junk off my kids faces so it’d definitely there, haha. and we eat a lot of peanut butter 😉

that all said, thank you!! i always love seeing your name pop up in the comments here! thanks for sticking around!ReplyCancel

sandra - I agree with Sue above.
It appears you have it all ‘together’.
    I’ll be playing along soon.
    KEEPIN IT REAL.
