after a very long hiatus, i thought the new year was the perfect time to bring back book club! so here it is, and here are a few of our favourites from the past few months! would love to hear what you are reading with your little ones (and on your own!) these days ๐Ÿ™‚
xo

just a handful of the awesome new books lila has recently added to her collection!

mr and mrs bunny: detectoves extraordinaire by polly horvath
if i wrote a book about you by stephanie aulenback (i picked this one for my girl and i think it may become my new “baby girl” staple gift — so special)
the one and only ivan by katherine applegate
little red writing by joan holub
flora & ulysses by kate dicamillo

happy reading!

sharing a few more of our favourite pop up books this week (and yes, my “schedule” is all mixed up around these parts right now — better late than never, right?!)

my pop-up world atlas by anita ganeri
the little prince by antoine de saint-exupery
b is for box by david a. carter
lost and found by oliver jeffers this is one of my favourite books in our entire library <3
hide and seek by david a. carter you really cannot go wrong with any of his pop-ups — they are a bit like miniature art galleries tucked between two covers. check out this post from last year to see a few images of the inside.

it’s a little book by lane smith
sparky by jenny offill
i like you by sandol stoddard warburg
miss lina’s ballerinas by grace maccarone
the miraculous journey of edward tulane by kate dicamillo
touch & feel farm by dwell studio

a few things of note about this weeks’ selections:

i had forgotten about i like you until i heard it read as part of a wedding ceremony i photographed earlier this month. we pulled it out again this week ๐Ÿ™‚

i cried multiple times while reading edward tulane with lila. it is far and above my favourite novel we’ve read together. i can’t recommend it enough.

and oscar cannot get enough of grabbing at the touch & feel series right now.

have a great weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

sharing a few of the books that cole chose to bring on our summer holiday today. these five seem to make it into the rotation every single week so i think it’s safe to say they are solid picks for the two and a half year old set ๐Ÿ™‚

beautiful oops by barney saltzberg
goodnight goodnight construction site by sherry duskey rinker
trucks go by steve light
hello dinosaur by dwell studio
